Day 4: Harbour Town

On our 4th day we decided to go to Harbour Town to see the lighthouse. The picture above is the drive there. The pic doesn't do the beauty of the area justice. There were HUGE Live Oak trees with Spanish Moss growing on them. It was like a tunnel of trees.
Harbour Town Lighthouse

114 steps to the top

Whew! We made it!

The view from the top. Beautiful!

Another view. Lots of boats...hence the name "Harbour Town."

Can you guess what they are doing???

Here's a hint: They are crab fishing! While we were visiting the lighthouse, we walked to the pier. There were kids everywhere crab fishing. So, off to the good ol' Wal-Mart we go to purchase some crab baskets. They had a BLAST! $10 crab baskets = HOURS of fun!

Kaylyn caught the first one.

Then it was Luke's turn

I have to admit, crab fishing was fun! The crab are mean little things and they SPIT! We let them all go once we had a little fun chasing them around the pier!

Luke versus the crab. He was trying to catch it with the tongs to get him back into the water. The thing stood up in a fighting stance and started spitting!

Swamp People???? On the way back to our villa we came across this gator! Of course I had to get a picture of him. He was just meandering along like we weren't even there.
