Farewell Bama...

I am sad to report that Kaylyn's bird Bama passed away yesterday. I was sitting in the kitchen and Luke came in from Kaylyn's room and said "the bird's dead." I went to look and sure enough, the bird was laying belly-up in the bottom of the cage. Kaylyn was visiting Granny at this time. I disposed of the body and was trying to figure out how to tell Kaylyn her bird had died. At first I considered replacing the bird before she got home, but the pet store was already closed and I really didn't want to get another bird unless I had to. (They are very messy). I then decided to weesil out of the whole situation and tell her it flew away. So when she got home, she almost immediately noticed the empty cage and asked where was Bama. I told her my made up fly away story, which went over well...for about 30 minutes. She was telling Luke about the bird flying away and he said "It didn't fly away, It died and mama threw it in the trash." I was so busted by my 3 year old. Moral of the story...don't assume Luke won't rat you out!
