Boo Boo!

Last night Luke decided it was time for a trip to the ER. (Like I don't get enough of that place). Chris was giving him a shower and some how Luke slipped and fell and gashed his chin. So, off we go to the ER at 9:00. This was NOT a good experience. Luke totally freaked out. He was not happy about the papoose, which he had to have because he would NOT be still. He also screamed and talked through the whole experience, which made suturing the cut a difficult task. Everytime we told him he had to be still, he would let out this barbaric cat-like "NO!." He ended up with 2 deep sutures and 9 superficial sutures, for a total of 11 sutures. Let me just say, being on "the other side" of and ER visit is no fun!

Atlanta Competition

Can you believe these are the only 2 pictures I took this weekend? I know....so unlike me! This "No photography" rule is killing me! The competition went great. The girls received "Gold" for their jazz song (Walk the Dinosaur) and "High Silver" on their tap song (Freeze Frame). They won their division for Walk the Dinosaur. They also won a special award called "Pigtail Power." Good job girls!!!

The Results Are In!!!

I found out this morning, we received "High Gold" scores on both songs and placed over all our division! Good job girls! Next weekend, we're off to Atlanta...

Dance Competition #1

We had our 1st dance competition today at The Alabama Theater. The girls had a great time and I think they did pretty well. We were not able to stay for the awards ceremony because they were running WAY behind schedule, so the awards ceremony that was supposed to start at 7:30 would not have started until around 9:00. So, that + a 2 hour awards show + an hour's drive home + a tired 7 year old = staying out way too late on a school night, so we decided to come home. Here's how they score...each group is given a score of bronze, silver, or gold , and then they have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in class for each division. I think the girls probably recieved pretty high scores, so hopefully they placed in an overall category. I'll post the results when I get them. I'm also trying to upload some video, but it's taking FOREVER! If I get it uploaded tonight I'll post it.

Walk The Dinosaur

In the dance competition world, it is extremely illegal to take picures during competition. If you are caught taking pictures while your team is on stage, the organization has the right to disqualify the whole school from the competition. I don't think this has ever happened to a school, but the threat is still there. Since we were sitting way up in the top balcony, and there weren't any signs posted about not videoing during competition, I decided to try to video with my digital camera. It's not the best quality and I didn't figure out how to zoom until the song was 1/2 over. I was able to video the first song fine, but during the second song, I noticed a security dance nazi coming up the stairs, so I had to put my camera away. Good thing I saw him, before he saw me!

Sneak Peak

Tomorrow we have our first competition at the Alabama Theater, so today we had a dress rehearsal. I thought they all looked so cute. All the girls were so excited and can't wait for tomorrow to get here. We will be competing around 3:45. Wish us luck!

Check out all the eye make-up! All the mom's actually had to go to "class" this morning to learn how to apply this stuff!

Toothless...

Well, it's finally happened...Kaylyn has lost her 2 front teeth! These teeth have loose for months now, and yesterday they were FINALLY loose enough to be pulled. She's so proud of her toothless self. She has spent most of the day grinning at herself in the mirror and she shows everyone we see her missing teeth. It has been all she's talked about all day! She also got a visit from the Tooth Fairy last night, so she was very excited about that. Last night at about 11:30, I was in her room "tucking her in" and the floor creaked a little, so of course she woke up and sat straight up in the bed. She had the strangest look on her face, I think she thought I was the Tooth Fairy! She was pretty disappointed when she figured out it was just me!

Goin' Fishin'

So, Chris and I decided to take the kids fishing this morning. It was a bit colder on the water than we thought it would be, so we didn't make it but about 2 hours. We caught 3 fish and about 27 tree limbs...by-the-way, Kaylyn and I caught 2 of those 3 fish!

Check Out The Hair!

The kids love riding in the boat, even though they were freezing this morning. I think Luke's face says it all...

Luke's Been A Bad Boy!

This little boy has been a handful lately. Yesterday, when I picked him up from daycare, he was sitting in time-out. His teacher said that he and his friend Hunter were on top of the slide throwing rocks at the other kids when they ran under them and they also wouldn't let anyone else on the slide! My child has turned into the playground bully!

Then, after we got home and had a talk about not throwing rocks at people, he and Kaylyn were in the back yard playing when Kaylyn came running in soaking wet. Guess who had dumped the dog's water bowl on her head?
