Platinum Dance Competition

This past weekend we had our first dance competition of the season at Sanford University. For this competition the girls only competed in two dances, tap and jazz and did pretty good. They ended up with a "Gold" ranking for their jazz dance and a "Platinum" ranking for ther tap dance. (Excuse the acro dancers in the background of this pic. The dressing rooms were crowded this week!)

Kaylyn is not too fond of this costume. She says she looks like a giant bottle of mustard!

Ready to get this show on the road!
The next competition is just a few weeks away!

Baseball 2012

This past weekend kicked off Baseball Season 2012. Doesn't my guy look handsome in his baseball get-up? This year he decided he wanted to play with a different league from years past and play with his classmates, so we have a different look and a different number.
The team played well, but lost in slaughter-like fashion. They had fun anyway and that's all that matters.

Such concentration! This year Luke is playing centerfield. At first he was a little bummed about playing in the outfield, since in the years past, there hasn't been much action in the outfield and he has played in the infield for the past 2 years. It didn't take long for him to discover that now that he's playing in an older league, the kids can actually hit the ball to the outfield, so he got lot's of balls hit out there to him and he assisted in several outs for his team. When the game was over he said, "I'm tired! They just kept hitting me the ball and I was running everywhere!"
In the hole warming up
Luke at the bat. He only got to bat one time. Another lesson learned from playing in the older league: your team doesn't bat through the line-up every inning because the other team can actually get 3 out! Baseball just got interesting folks!
He make the most of his one and only time to bat and hit a double.

Shaking hands at the end of the game.
Post-game prayer.
