Luke....

This kid comes up with some of the funniest stuff sometimes, and he doesn't even know he's being funny. Today on the way home from daycare, we were riding down highway 78 and got behind this paw-paw driver going about 30 mph in the fast lane (I hate when people do this!!). There were 3 or 4 cars lined up behind him so I just passed them all. (By the way, this is a 4 lane highway) Luke started fussing at me. He said "MAMA!!!" I said "What Luke?" He said, "You have to stay in line!!! It's not nice to break ahead of people!!!!" He was so serious about the whole thing. I thought this was so cute, I just had to share!

Happy Birthday To Me!!

Well, it's finally happened....I've said goodbye to my 20's and turned the big 3-0. I have to say, I don't feel any different today than I did yesterday, even though my kids have been screaming "Ha, Ha, Mama's 30" all day, with prompting from their daddy of course. All in all, it's been a great day. I went to work this morning and was given a great birthday party from my "work family." Yes, I said "family" because I consider the group I work with my family. They are a special group of people to me. Then I came home and had dinner with my husband and kids, they had me a frog cake, which I loved! (Anyone that knows me, knows that I love frogs.) So, as you can tell, I've had a wonderful day, even though I am now 30. Oh well, it's better than the alternative....better to live to see another birthday, than to not see another birthday!

This is my frog cake, I hated to cut it, but I did of course. I just can't turn down good cake! Chris said he opted for the 3 and 0 candles instead of 30 individual candle, because he didn't want to set off the fire alarms. How Mean! I had to remind him that he will ALWAYS be older!

Bye-Bye Girls!!!!

Yesterday was Miranda and Laura's last day to work with us before they headed west to California for a few months of travel nursing. I can't believe they wanted to leave all of the beauty of Birmingham to go to San Fran! Just kidding Girls! I hope ya'll have a safe trip and have a wonderful time in Cali. (But don't have too much fun, we want you to come back home!) We'll miss you!

Chloe's Getting So Big!!!

Tonight we had my birthday dinner at my parents. (Yes, I only have 3 more days of my 20's left :(. Chloe was there and bright eyed and full of smiles. She loves to look at her cousins and gets excited when they hold her.

Bad Blogging...

Sorry for the bad blogging. Things have been pretty crazy around here. Let's just say the New Year started with a BANG around the Chilton house. I think things may finally be returning to normal now. I hope so anyway!

Life Is A Highway

Here is a little taste of Luke's singing. I'm thinking of sending it to American Idol....Ha! Don't forget to pause the music.

Good Job Kaylyn!

Kaylyn got straight A's again on her report card. Don't worry, we won't be buying anymore new pets!

More Funny Stories From Kaylyn

A couple of weeks ago, Kaylyn came home from school and said:
"We learned about a King today, who had a 'dream.' His dream was about all people being equal, no matter what color their skin is. I'm not sure where he was king though"
I said: "Do you mean Martin Luther King, Jr?"
She said: "Yeah, that's him."
I just had to laugh, she thought she was learning about a real King of somewhere. I had to explain, that "King" was his LAST name!
Then, last week, she came home and said, "I had a headache at school today, so I had to go to the school nurse for some 'advice'. I said, "Well what did she 'advise you to do?"

No Snow....

Can you believe we did not see ONE single snowflake today? I know...It's crazy! But, no snow for Walker County. As you can see, the kids were pretty disappointed. Neither of them have seen snow before. Oh well...maybe next time!
